| It is amazing to think
how much we have grown to depend on the internet
in such a short period of time. Communication and
information gathering have been revolutionised in
a few short years. You can click on the web-site
images to open up the sites in all their past
glories !! In 1999 Pengelly's first
web-site was born. A very basic site indeed, but
it served as our "on-line brochure"
throughout 1999 and 2000.

In
2001 we started a tradition that we have
maintained ever since - and began our first
annual website makeover. To keep our look fresh
and modern each year we now change the style over
the New Year break. Our web-site is designed
in-house, and in 2001 we had started to work with
pictures, and we introduced news and commentary
to our site.

2002's
makeover introduced a proud New Zealand feeling,
and also reflected the growing amount of
information that Pengelly's now had on it's
website.

In
2003 we offered our clients our new
"Glasshouse" Information system which
offers our clients shipment, rating, logisticsand
accounting information. Pengelly's employ a
Programmer who comes in weekly to make
enhancements to Glasshouse. The homepage was
simplified, and for the first time featured a
"world time" section - which has
received great feedback - and thus has remained
on the homepage ever since.

Pengelly's
own the forwarder ITM in Australia. In 2004 we
worked with them and developed a look that was
similar to theirs. Incorporating freight industry
images the two companies had similar sites for
this year (although the Australians are a little
less forthcoming about their New Zealand
ownership.( view www.itm.com.au )

In
2005 we worked with our programmer to give us
some clever features - including a new menu
system that worked throughout the site, more
timezones, an office map, a staff-search
function, and hourly weather updates on all the
cities that we have offices in. We also
introduced photos of New Zealand to the front
page. There was 18 different photos that showed
up randomly as you went in and out of the site.
This has been very well commented on by our
overseas clients and partners.

2006
has seen us keep most of the features of the
previous site - with a different colour scheme.
We have also found some stunning Sunset and
Sunrise photographs that compliment the site
well. For the first time we have introduced some
Australian photos to reflect our growing presence
there (Over 80 staff there now)

We
will continue our annual makeover - and already
have some designs and ideas in place for 2007
(and beyond !!)
